Guitar Head
By Bob Hardenbrook

I have been graced with the time and opportunity to finally sit down, shut the outside world out, and dedicate my full attention and time to a collection of very special vintage instruments that I have collected over the last 20 odd years. With no deadlines, no rules, surrounded by these guitars, Ive let the tones lead and inspire me on this mysterious, creative, musical journey. The results are thirteen instrumentals that I came to call Guitar Head, as the title of my first CD. Twenty-five unique instruments, from pre-war Gibsons, to late 1950s Fenders and Gibson electrics, make up these songs, recorded in a variety of combinations. The music of Guitar Head is not easy to categorize. Feel good music is what it is,.. good for the heart and soul. The songs were started with and idea, a single track inspired by the vintage instrument featured or the tuning, and then layered, one by one, as the songs came to be. I never knew what would be in the end. I play all of the instruments, with the exception of the drums, courtesy of Jimmy Paxson. This is my attempt to capture and share these tones and hear what the instruments have shared with me. Its all about the love of tone, the love of guitars, and the love of playing these wonderful instruments, that I am so lucky to have in my life. Enjoy.
